Railgun
The Railgun (RG, Rail) fires a hitscan beam dealing 80 damage per shot. No splash damage. No self-damage. Unlimited range. Reload time is approximately 1.5 seconds. Respawn time is 5 seconds.
Mechanics
The Rail fires instantly on click with no travel time. It deals a fixed 80 damage to the first player it hits regardless of range. The shot passes through walls only in specific gametype configurations; in standard play it does not penetrate.
The 1.5-second reload means accuracy per shot matters significantly. A missed Rail is a long window of vulnerability.
Role in Play
The Rail is the long-range weapon in the triad. Primary uses:
- Opening shot at long range before closing to LG/RL range
- Punishing an opponent who is low on HP from across the map
- Defensive picks: hitting an opponent before they can close the distance
- Finishing: 80 damage is enough to kill a player at or below 80 HP from any range
Aim Requirements
Hitscan and unlimited range mean the Rail rewards map awareness and prediction. Reading where an opponent will be in the next moment is the primary skill demand. Spam shots (firing at movement paths) are viable at choke points.
