Grenade Launcher
The Grenade Launcher (GL) fires a bouncing explosive projectile with a delayed fuse. 100 damage on direct hit, splash damage on detonation. Full self-damage applies. Respawn time is 5 seconds.
Mechanics
The grenade follows an arc trajectory and bounces off surfaces before detonating on a timer. It detonates early on direct player contact. The arc and bounce make the GL useful for indirect fire: shooting around corners or pre-covering a landing zone.
Timing the bounce and detonation requires practice. The GL is less forgiving than the RL at close range because the delayed fuse means a grenade fired at a close opponent may detonate after they have moved.
Role in Play
The GL is used for:
- Area denial: bouncing grenades into rooms before entering
- Indirect fire: lobbing around corners or over obstacles
- Grenade jumping: similar to rocket jumping but with a different trajectory
In close-quarters fights the GL is harder to use effectively than the RL due to the fuse delay and arc trajectory.
