Grenade Launcher
The Grenade Launcher (GL) fires a bouncing explosive projectile with a delayed fuse. It deals 80 damage on a direct hit with splash damage in a 125-unit radius, carries full self-damage (1.0 ratio), and generates 100 knockback. It fires every 800ms.
Mechanics
The grenade travels in an arc and bounces off surfaces before detonating on a timer. It does not detonate on contact unless it hits a player directly. The bounce mechanic enables indirect fire angles: through doorways, around corners, into rooms without entering them, and up ledges.
Role in Play
The GL is not a primary damage tool in most direct exchanges. Its travel time and bounce arc make it unreliable for close-range dueling.
The GL covers vertical angles by lobbing grenades onto elevated platforms. It places grenades behind objects and into blind spots. It controls high-traffic chokepoints by placing grenades that force opponents to route around or time their movement. Self-damage and knockback also enable grenade jumps for movement purposes.
Counters
The delayed fuse and bounce trajectory make moving targets hard to hit reliably. At close range, the Rocket Launcher and Riotgun out-damage the GL before the fuse expires.
