Quake Live
Quake Live is an Arena FPS based on Quake 3 Arena, released as a browser plugin in 2009 and migrated to Steam in 2014. Free to play.
Two physics modes, determined by the server factory:
- VQL (Vanilla Quake Live): default. Strafe jumping is the primary speed technique. Limited air control.
- PQL (CPM-like physics): heavy air control. Movement keys while airborne steer toward the look direction.
Competitive play centers on the weapon triad: Rocket Launcher (RL), Lightning Gun (LG), and Railgun (RG/Rail).
Content here is specific to Quake Live. Nothing applies to Warfork or Reflex Arena unless a dedicated cross-game page says otherwise.
